Review paper "Optical properties and bandgaps from low loss EELS: Pitfalls and solutions" one of the most successful Micron articles

The review paper about Cerenkov losses in Valence EELS - "Optical properties and bandgaps from low loss EELS: Pitfalls and Solutions" - is one of the most successfull ones of Micron. It is the 6th most important from the year 2008 (174 papers were published in 2008), it is at rank 17 out of 1643 publications since 2008 and at rank 72 since the establishment of Micron. Already on place 73 is USTEM's Research paper "Cerenkov losses: A Limit for bandgap determination and Kramers-Kronig Analysis" by Dr. Stöger-Pollach, Prof. Schattschneider and co-workers. Until now, 2711 papers were published within Micron since 1969.

The most successful paper with USTEM contribution in Ultramicroscopy is "Transmission electron microscopy at 20kV for Imaging and spectroscopy" being the 2nd most cited paper of 2011 and at rank 59 since the establishment of Ultramicroscopy. Ultramicroscopy was found in 1975 and published more than 6800 research articles up to now.

When searching in Scopus for the most prominent papers on EELS in TEM in all listed scientific journals, the above mentioned papers are also very well ranked:
"Transmission electron microscopy at 20kV for Imaging and spectroscopy" rank 50,
"Optical properties and bandgaps from low loss EELS: Pitfalls and Solutions" rank 113, and
"Cerenkov losses: A Limit for bandgap determination and Kramers-Kronig Analysis" is ranked 114 out of 3254 papers.
